As soon as the crisis of the "Fly Dubai" plane settled, the storytelling machine began to fill the political and media councils in Tunisia, taking forms that varied between exaggeration and politicization. The chapters of the story began with the arrival of the passengers in Tel Aviv, where the positions of three characters emerged; Yaniv Ohayon, Tsvika Mans, and Asaf Rajwan, the three who controlled the co-pilot. Mans and Rajwan refused to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and give him the opportunity to exploit their catastrophe politically, affirming succinctly that everyone was a hero, while Yaniv Ohayon found himself alone in a meeting with the Prime Minister, and in blood-stained clothes, he recounted his thrilling story that circulated in the media, and how he pulled the yoke to stabilize the plane as he had been watching aviation programs on television. The narratives were not limited to the Israeli interior, where some of its media explained the background of the co-pilot and asserted that he was from the Sultanate of Oman in detail as if they knew him, his family, his origins, and his details, without any reference to any source, but extended to larger platforms, to the extent that the American president touched upon the story he heard from Bibi Netanyahu, hinting that he did not know if it was true, referring to the extent of the exaggerations added for political consumption, describing the co-pilot either as a terrorist or mentally unstable. As for what exactly happened behind the cockpit doors, only the black box and two people know: the assailant and the victim, namely the co-pilot and the pilot. Both men are currently lying in a hospital in Saudi Arabia receiving treatment, where investigations are being conducted with those whose health condition allows them to speak. The investigation is being conducted with high professionalism and in coordination with the relevant parties, and despite attempts at Israeli intervention, the legal frameworks stood in the way of that, with the Emirati authorities set to inform the Israeli side of all details once they are concluded. Amid this chaos and control of the situation inside the plane, the role of the additional crew on board emerged; it became necessary for the additional pilot from "Fly Dubai" to take charge, redirecting the plane and landing it safely at Tabuk Airport near the incident site, which rushed to respond to the distress call and was fully prepared to receive it, and the company sent another plane that later transported the passengers to their original destination in Tel Aviv. During the time the passengers and the plane were in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, Israel sought to impose a rescue narrative attempting to send evacuation planes under the title of rapid intervention, but the firm stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia categorically rejected that; the plane was neither hijacked nor detained, but landed in an emergency response flight during which its passengers received full medical care and hospitality. Until the clouds of the investigations officially reveal themselves, the stories of a thousand and one nights will continue to flow; some will try to exploit the incident to exaggerate it and consider it a conspiracy to strike the region, and others will employ it to serve narrow interests. But the heroic role of the pilot who valiantly – despite his severe injuries – sent the distress call and opened the cockpit door, alongside the courage of some passengers and the additional crew, was the decisive factor that saved about one hundred and eighty people from a disaster whose repercussions we do not know how they would have been. We await the results of the investigations, fully confident in the ability of the competent authorities to illuminate the truth without evasion. There is no doubt that the security protocol for aviation between Israel and the UAE will undergo a comprehensive review that concerns not only passengers but also crews and aviation employees, and the employment of pilots and crews will be subject to renewed security checks in airlines around the world.
