Social media witnessed widespread interaction by a number of art stars in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Arab world, following statements by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding his country’s readiness to take the necessary measures to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The artists’ blog posts unanimously emphasized the depth and deep-rooted historical ties of brotherhood that unite Cairo and Riyadh, stressing that the security of the Arabian Gulf is a fundamental pillar of Egyptian and Arab national security, and emphasizing that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent the safety valve and the nation’s protective shield in the face of regional challenges.

Sherine Abdel Wahab was at the forefront of the interactions, as she wrote on the “X” platform that Sisi’s position embodies Egypt’s standing alongside Saudi Arabia, and expresses the importance of unity of ranks and Arab solidarity.

Sherine also called for preserving the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people, stressing that Egypt and Saudi Arabia will remain pillars of Arab security and stability, and that the two countries are united by “one destiny.”

In turn, Asala Nasri expressed the strength of the ties between the two countries, saying that some relations cannot be summed up in words because “their roots are deeper than positions,” and described the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Egypt as “a story of family, brotherhood, and extended love.”

Wael Kfoury also stressed that Saudi Arabia and Egypt remain a support for the Arabs, calling for the Kingdom to be protected from any danger.

Abadi Al-Johar also commented, saying that Saudi-Egyptian relations are an extension of a long history of human and cultural ties, and a firm brotherhood that unites the two peoples.

In the same context, Abdul Majeed Abdullah wrote: “Saudi Arabia and Egypt... the glory of the Arabs and the depth of history,” wishing for continued love between the peoples of the two countries.

These positions came after Sisi’s speech during the graduation ceremony of new batches from the Egyptian Military Academy, during which he affirmed that his country would not hesitate to implement any measure aimed at protecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and defending its security, sending an invitation to the Egyptian House of Representatives to convene in an emergency session to grant the necessary authorization.

Yesterday, Saturday, the Egyptian President called on Parliament to hold an emergency session to grant him the necessary authorization in the event that intervention was required at the request of Saudi Arabia. He expressed his appreciation to the Gulf countries, led by Saudi Arabia, for their support of Egypt following the events of 2013, noting the support they provided to Egypt at that stage.
