While investigations continue in the UAE with Hamam Al-Hamami, the co-pilot of the Flydubai flight that faced an attempted attack last Wednesday that nearly led to the death of about 180 people, Al-Hamami's posts revealed signs and evidence of his extremism.

After the failed attack on the plane, two posts appeared on Al-Hamami's personal account on the LinkedIn platform. One of the posts included a picture of Ayman al-Zawahiri, who took over the leadership of Al-Qaeda after the death of Osama bin Laden.

One of the posts, about 9 hours after the failed attack, showed a video of Israeli planes, followed by images of a suicide bomber and al-Zawahiri.

It remains unclear whether these posts were scheduled for publication in advance, especially since the LinkedIn account was later suspended, according to what CNN reported.

Previous comments by Al-Hammami on X, under the name @pilothamam, have shown extremist thinking against women, welcoming violence against women and hitting them when necessary.

In one discussion, he wrote on his X account addressing a woman: "I will step on your head, wipe the ground with you, and make you a lesson for others before I release you."

In another post, he seemed to support Russia while defending violence against women, as he commented on a discussion about a man hitting a woman saying: "He gave her a preemptive slap to redefine her boundaries, just as Russia slapped Ukraine to redraw its boundaries."

He also stated in one comment that women have become bolder because they are "safe from punishment," adding that a woman in some parts of the Middle East, if she angers her husband, "sleeps on a slap and wakes up to a slap."

Investigations so far have shown that the suspect acted alone and had no connections to Iran, according to two American officials speaking to the New York Times.

The 29-year-old Hamami, born to an Omani father and a Syrian mother, faces charges of attempting to carry out a terrorist act by using the emergency axe available on board a Boeing 737 Max to assault the Indian pilot, Smit Mashchar.
