Iran confirms the firmness of its position on America’s negotiations... and Pezeshkian: “We eat dirt and do not concede.”

Official statements came out from Iran on Tuesday, stressing the firmness of its position on the negotiations with the United States, while President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Iranian people “eat the dirt and do not give up the soil of the homeland.” Pezeshkian’s words came in a post on the

We eat the dirt, but we do not give up the soil of the homeland.” This comes at a time when the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, received Pakistani Army Commander Asim Munir in Tehran, and stated, according to IRNA, that “threats and military movements cannot influence the strategic decisions of the Islamic Republic.”

During the meeting, Qalibaf referred to the negotiations that took place between Iran and the United States in Islamabad, saying: “I frankly said there to US Vice President (J.D. Vance) that the long record of US negative measures against Iran before and after the Islamic Revolution has put us in a state of extreme distrust towards America.” He continued: "And now that the Trump government has vetoed the Islamabad understanding, his repeated threats make this building of mistrust higher than before."

He also explained: “We have no new words, and America cannot gain Iran’s trust except by implementing the seven Iranian conditions that were presented in New York.” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated earlier this month, saying, “The conditions that we have set are not strange or unusual conditions, and I have previously said that all of these conditions are things that the United States has previously committed to in the previous memorandum of understanding and other negotiations.”

He continued: "These are completely fair conditions, and we believe that if the United States had the will to open the Strait of Hormuz, it could implement these conditions within a few days, and then the Strait would be opened." Over the past month, Iranian military leaders have intensified their public statements, claiming that Iran has built up huge stockpiles of new weapons ready to be used to target sites outside the region if the United States resumes the combat operations that began in February.

Over the past few weeks, White House advisers have held meetings to discuss various options regarding Iran. Although Trump publicly announced that he would not take new measures before the midterm congressional elections, a number of his advisors told the Ofoq News network in private conversations that they do not know whether this statement is final, or whether it may change before Election Day, corresponding to November 3.

The US military has drawn up new plans to launch strikes, including the possibility of using the so-called “mother of all bombs” to target Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites, if Trump issues an order to resume combat operations, whether before or after the midterm elections, according to a number of US officials familiar with the matter. The GBU-43/B, known as the Massive Air Burst Bomb (MOAB), is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal, and its use would constitute a major escalation.

Iranian army commander Ali Reza Sheikh said on Saturday: “These are propaganda tools aimed at intimidating the Iranian people,” and added: “The Iranian people are the father of bombs.”
