Israel Commemorates the 3rd Anniversary of the October 7 Attack with Memorials and Protests

On the third anniversary of the October 7 attack - the deadliest attack in Israel's history - the country commemorated this anniversary with a series of ceremonies, memorial events, and protests at more than 400 locations. The memorial ceremonies began with a national moment of silence at the same time the attack started.

At noon, the families of the victims and grassroots protest groups organized a national moment of reflection and remembrance of the events, with participation from public hospitals, local municipalities, universities, and private companies. Memorial events will also be held at the "Nova" festival site in the "Raim" area, where more than 370 people were killed and 44 others were kidnapped.

Protests and expressive events are also expected to take place across the country throughout the day. A national memorial ceremony is scheduled to be held in Tel Aviv on Wednesday evening, with expectations of tens of thousands in attendance.

The event is organized by the "Como" movement (which means "rise" in Hebrew) - a movement representing survivors of the October 7 events and the families of the victims. It is noted that at 6:29 AM on October 7, 2023, gunmen led by Hamas stormed Israeli residential communities along the border with the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,200 people and the abduction of 251 hostages into the Gaza Strip, according to official figures.
