Lebanon.. The artist Fadel Shaker is released on financial bail and the “Abra File” appeal is under study

The Permanent Military Court in Lebanon decided, on Wednesday, to release the artist Fadel Shaker, in the “four security cases filed against him,” including what is known as the “Abra File.” The court released Fadl. “In three cases, there is a financial guarantee of one hundred million liras for each file, and a guarantee of two hundred million liras for the Abra file,” according to the National News Agency in Lebanon. The total amount of the two guarantees is equivalent to approximately 3,350 US dollars.

The file was presented to the “government commissioner” at the military court, Judge Claude Ghanem, and he “considered and agreed” to release Fadl in “the three cases, while he is still studying the Abra file in terms of whether to appeal it or not,” according to “National Media.” The military court had postponed Fadel Shaker's trial in late June, until next August 5, "due to the inability" to transfer him "from his place of detention to the military court, as a result of the deterioration of his health condition."

A few days ago, Fadl suffered a health problem, as a result of which he was transferred to the military hospital to receive the necessary care. He later left the hospital, and Lebanese media reports indicated earlier last June: His health condition deteriorated in his prison, as a result of his suffering from complications of diabetes, which affected his vision, in addition to facing heart health problems. Fadel Shaker had surrendered himself to a Lebanese Army Intelligence patrol, at the entrance to Ain al-Hilweh camp - Sidon, on October 4, 2025.
