Egyptian actress Mona Zaki revealed special details about her life for the first time, confirming that she lost 7 children in the first months of pregnancy due to an “immune disease.”

Zaki said during a television interview, yesterday evening, Sunday, that after giving birth to her daughter, “Lily,” she tried to get pregnant more than once over the years, out of her desire to start a family, but the pregnancy failed in the first months. She added: "I lost 7 children and it was very difficult, especially with my daughter's desire to have a brother or sister."

Zaki also confirmed that she tried a lot to resort to various treatments, and that she resorted to difficult ICSI surgeries to help her get pregnant and give birth again, before she discovered that she had a rare immune disease that caused her this problem.

She added that after a period of starting treatment for the immune disease, she was surprised to become pregnant at the age of forty, and although it was difficult, she considered this pregnancy a gift from God, as she gave birth to her second child, “Salim,” more than 12 years after giving birth to her daughter.

In addition, Zaki indicated in a remarkable statement that she has come to realize that she has entered a new age stage in her life, and that she is no longer a young woman, stressing that she has begun to reject the roles of forty years old and considers them a previous stage that does not suit her currently. She said: “Now when I have a role in the first forty, I tell them, ‘Guys, I am not in the first forties,’ and they tell me, ‘But you look like you are forty.’”

She explained that she is "currently interested in presenting roles that express her true age and feelings."

While she described the feelings of her current age, she said: “You remain stronger in some things and more sensitive in others.”
