More than 500 beneficiaries on the first day.. Free medical day in the Old City of Hebron

Hebron - Afaq News - The old town of Hebron witnessed the organization of a free medical day, extending over three days, initiated by Jilanco Company and organized by the Palestinian Public Relations Forum, with the participation of several doctors, nurses, and health entities, aimed at providing free medical services and alleviating the health and economic burdens on citizens.

The head of the Palestinian Public Relations Forum, Engineer Alaa Zalloum, stated that the number of beneficiaries from the medical day on its first day exceeded 500 citizens, considering that this number reflects the extent of the need for medical services, especially in the old town of Hebron.

Zalloum added that the large turnout from citizens, along with the health reality and economic conditions, confirms the importance of organizing such initiatives and providing medical services close to citizens, particularly in areas facing specific challenges in accessing services.

She pointed out that a large number of doctors in various specialties expressed their willingness to participate and volunteer in the campaign, praising the cooperation of the private sector and various participating entities in making the event successful.

Zalloum said: "The idea came from the management of Jilanco Company, and we thank them for this wonderful initiative that will help alleviate the burdens on citizens, as well as thanking the doctors and the Khalil Al-Rahman Clinic in the old town, the Red Crescent Society, and all the doctors, nurses, and residents for their contributions to the success of this event."

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jilanco, Rubin Al-Joulani, expressed his happiness with the large turnout for the medical day, noting that the level of participation exceeded his expectations.

Al-Joulani said: "I was surprised by the number of citizens who attended to benefit from this day, and this drives us to consider organizing additional days, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, especially the Ministry of Health."

He added that the significant need he observed during the medical day necessitates thinking about more sustainable solutions, calling on the Ministry of Health to work on transferring part of its services to the old town, which would help alleviate the economic and health burdens on the residents of the area and bring medical services closer to them.

Al-Joulani emphasized that the initiative should not be limited to a temporary event, given the level of need that emerged during the first day, stressing the importance of continued cooperation between the private sector, health authorities, and community institutions to organize similar initiatives in the future.

The medical day involves the participation of several doctors, nurses, and volunteers, alongside the Khalil Al-Rahman Clinic and the Red Crescent Society, where the event includes providing free medical services and consultations to citizens over three days.

The initiative comes in light of the need for the residents of the Old Town for more nearby health services, making the event a model for cooperation between the private sector and health and community institutions, in an attempt to bring medical services to citizens and reduce the cost and burden of obtaining them.
