Beirut - Afaq News - The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, attacked the Lebanese authorities and President Joseph Aoun regarding the ongoing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, calling for an end to direct negotiations and a return to the indirect track.
Qassem stated, according to what was reported by the newspaper 'Yedioth Ahronoth', that the Lebanese authorities 'conceded all sources of power at once and submitted to all the enemy's demands', accusing them of aiding what he described as the 'Israeli-American project' instead of confronting it.
He added that the Lebanese authorities bear the responsibility for the continuation of the tense security situation, in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks, according to his statement.
Regarding Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Qassem said that he has the right to conduct negotiations, but he 'does not have the right to violate the constitution or concede Lebanon's rights.'
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah called for an end to direct negotiations and a shift to indirect negotiations, saying: 'Stop the direct negotiations and move to indirect negotiations.'
Qassem confirmed that Hezbollah will stand by those who defend "Lebanon's sovereignty," at a time when the Lebanese arena is witnessing an escalating discussion regarding the nature of negotiations with Israel and the future of security arrangements between the two sides.
