Any regime, party, or militia that abolishes the present and volunteers its followers for the battles of the past is in fact robbing them of the ability to think about the future. These entities push them to fight their countries and even their families for the sake of what they believe is a holy war conjured from the depths of history.
These followers are victims of trends that history has always known for claiming the divine right to power. Because these leaders cannot succeed without a flock, they had to be brainwashed, ignorant of minds, and besiege awareness by injecting corrupt ideology. In order to tighten control, doctrines of reason, such as drugs and khat, become an essential part of this systematic process.
The result is a completely absent generation that does not look forward and lives trapped in the past, muttering phrases that are taught to them unconsciously, and praying to its master more than it prays to its Lord. They convinced him that murder, theft, and abuse were rights granted to him by the Divine Master, and that every crime was justified for the sake of this cause.
This scene is not inspired by imagination, but rather a bitter reality that we are living in now, and it perfectly summarizes what the Houthis, Hezbollah, and the factions loyal to Iran are doing, and these do not represent the Shiite component that we respect. We are talking about those who studied at the hands of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Whoever wants to understand how Iran penetrated the Arab countries, corrupted their social fabric, and made brother kill brother, this is the method documented by contemporary reports about Tehran’s regional proxy networks.
Imagine with me their reaction to these words. They will bombard us with accusations because what provokes them most is thinking, and they are not good at it and even fear it. In Amr ibn al-Aas’s conversation with Musaylimah the Liar, he said to him, “By God, you know that I know that you are a liar.” And these people know in the depths of themselves that they are liars, to the point that they have turned piety into a strategy and political deception, as their leaders go out on the media knowing that he is lying, but he is striving to make his lie appear to be true.
Despite his attempts, his body language exposes him and his eyes fly as physical evidence of his lack of conviction, but he realizes that his speech is directed at followers whose minds have been robbed in the training halls and lessons, and he cannot back down before them for fear of losing his legitimacy, as lying to the entire world is easier for them than telling the truth to their followers.
A Yemeni tells the story of a father who noticed that his son found more psychological comfort in staying on the militia fronts than in staying at home. All of the father’s attempts to protect his only remaining son failed after his other brothers were killed on the front lines. The father later discovered that the comfort his son found was linked to narcotic substances that the militia planted on them only on the front lines to turn them into addicts without their knowledge.
How similar is this meanness to the method of the famous historical Assassin sect that Hassan al-Sabah founded in the Citadel of Death in the eleventh century AD, where historians mention how al-Sabah used to lull the minds of his young men with drugs and enter them into a secret garden, deceiving them as paradise. They then woke up fully prepared to carry out any assassination or political suicide, thinking that obedience to the Sheikh of the Mountain was their only ticket to paradise. The Houthi militia today applies the exact same approach, exploiting narcotic substances as a tool for field control and collective brainwashing. The real weapon of the Houthis and the rest of Iran’s militias is not the power of argument, but convincing followers of a false and false belief under the influence of drugs.
Today we are facing a modern expansion of the Assassins, a generation living in the distant past with whom all attempts at persuasion will fail, a generation that blindly believes that it is going to heaven and that this senseless war is its inevitable destiny. You talk to him about his future and building nations, and he talks to you about the injustices of history and the revenges of the past.
Hence, we must realize that war may address these people’s terrorism on the ground, but it will never address their ideology. Confronting this dark thought begins from square one, where the pivotal role of the family, school, and state comes in building societal immunity that prevents the exploitation of children and adolescents and turning them into fuel for the ambitions of deranged people and clerics who are corrupt in their faith, in parallel with a strong and strict fight against drugs as it is the main disease and the executive arm of mind-washing operations.
In conclusion, there is no fundamental difference between the terrorist groups that we have known and the Houthis and other groups loyal to Iran, even if their intellectual and political references differ, they are all terrorist organizations whose goals and destruction of homelands are identical, and unfortunately there is no decisive solution for them except complete uprooting from the roots. Ending the militia and terrorist situation in the Arab world has become an inevitable existential necessity, as these groups have consumed much of our future and were the umbrella that allowed international interference in our affairs. Today, our greatest duty is to work intellectually and practically to ensure that future generations do not remain an easy prey in the hands of these imbeciles.
