Under the directives of the leadership, Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, has provided a new tranche to support the Yemeni budget with more than 224 million Saudi Riyals, equivalent to about 59.7 million dollars.
The new financial tranche is allocated to cover operational expenses and salaries, in order to enhance the stability of the Yemeni people.
Additionally, the support aims to contribute to the regular flow of government financial resources and the payment of salaries, as well as to support the efficiency of fiscal policy, which stimulates the progress of economic and social development towards a more sustainable path.
The Saudi Press Agency, SPA, indicated that the new tranche positively reflects on enhancing purchasing power, regular income for families, and also revitalizing commercial markets.
The announcement of the new support for the Yemeni budget coincides with Yemen's launch of military operations against the Houthi militia to regain what remains of the territories of the Yemeni republic and to establish the sovereignty of the state and its institutions over all national territory, according to the speech of the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, today.
For his part, Al-Alimi emphasized in his speech that "the Saudi brotherly support has contributed to the resilience of state institutions and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people," pointing out that the Kingdom has remained a second homeland for millions of Yemenis who found open doors for work, life, and security, stating: "The Yemeni people will forever remember the Kingdom's positions in their national memory."
In this context, Saudi Arabia is the largest historical supporter of Yemen in humanitarian, developmental, and economic aspects, while the developmental and economic interventions provided by the Kingdom, amounting to over $12.6 billion during the period from 2012 to 2026, have formed a fundamental pillar in enhancing the capacity of Yemeni institutions to continue providing services to the brotherly Yemeni people and alleviating the severity of economic and social pressures, including deposits and grants for the benefit of the Central Bank of Yemen, achieving a level of financial balance and supporting macroeconomic stability in the brotherly Republic of Yemen.
Additionally, the developmental interventions through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen have had a positive impact on establishing the foundations of sustainable development, mitigating humanitarian and economic impacts, and achieving comprehensive development that benefits present and future generations.
The Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has presented a matrix of developmental projects and initiatives in eight vital and essential sectors, totaling 300 developmental projects and initiatives, which have contributed to enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure and basic services, building the capacities of Yemeni personnel, and providing job opportunities, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable and comprehensive development for the brothers in Yemen.
