-The company that produces the series “Ashmawy” in Egypt explained on Wednesday that filming of the series has been halted “temporarily... in order to complete decoration preparations,” and that filming will resume within “two days.”
Cedars Art Production - Sabah Brothers confirmed in an official statement that “this cessation has nothing to do with any disputes as was rumored,” and the statement stressed the existence of a “strong relationship dominated by respect and understanding” between the series’ hero, Mohamed Ramadan, and its director, Peter, and that they are keen “to present distinctive work worthy of the audience.” The company's clarification came after it was reported that there were disagreements between Ramadan and Peter Mimi that caused filming to stop, noting that both the hero of the series and its director expressed great enthusiasm for working together for the first time, through what they both published during the preparation period for the series, and with the start of filming.
It is noteworthy that when the “Ashmawi” series project was announced, the script was scheduled to be written by the Egyptian novelist and screenwriter Ahmed Murad, who later withdrew from the project without explaining the reasons. Egyptian media reports stated that his withdrawal came as a result of differences in viewpoints, and Mohamed Ismail Amin later took over writing the series.
