Hebron - Afaq News - A friendly football match was scheduled to take place today at the small playground designated for the children of the village of Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta, with the participation of Israelis and internationals, players from the Palestinian national football team, and representatives from the Palestinian Football Association, as an expression of solidarity with the village's residents, especially its children, who suffer from harassment by the surrounding settlers.
The village's residents face continuous harassment, including the seizure of the football field and preventing the village's children from using it while they play.
However, the occupation army declared the area a closed military zone and prevented the event and the match from taking place.
Ofer Cassif, a member of the Knesset from the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality, stated on his account on 'X': 'This is what occupation looks like, and this is what apartheid looks like.'
The event organizers confirmed that they will not back down and that the match will be held at another time, despite the occupation army's decision to ban it.
