Occupation Tightens the Noose on Jerusalem Towns.. and Detains About 53 Young Men in Bedou

Jerusalem - Afaq News - The occupation forces closed the entrances to the village of Um Tuba south of Jerusalem with concrete blocks, tightening restrictions on the movement of residents coinciding with the so-called "Yom Kippur" Jewish holiday.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed the village and deployed concrete blocks and barriers at its entrances leading to neighboring towns, which restricted the movement of residents and isolated the village from its surroundings.

The occupation forces also closed main and secondary streets in Jerusalem and set up military checkpoints as part of measures that local sources said aim to tighten the security cordon and limit the movement of Jerusalemites.

The incursions included towns and villages in the Jerusalem Governorate, including Bedou and Anata and Hizma, where the occupation forces set up checkpoints and carried out search operations in their vicinity.

In the town of Al-Ram, the occupation forces stormed residential areas and fired tear gas canisters towards several homes, with no reports of injuries or arrests.

In the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, the occupation forces carried out a wide campaign of arrests at dawn on Monday, targeting dozens of young men.

The Jerusalem governorate stated that the occupation forces are still holding around 53 young men at least inside an interrogation center they established in one of the houses they seized during the incursion into the town, alongside search and vandalism operations inside several houses, and assaults on citizens.
