Pakistan confirmed on Thursday that it carried out "planned and studied" airstrikes on neighboring Afghanistan, which Islamabad accuses of harboring militants using its territory to orchestrate attacks on Pakistan.
The Pakistani Ministry of Information stated in a post on the platform "X" that "based on reliable intelligence information, precise and targeted operations were carried out against terrorist camps and hideouts in two locations within Afghanistan, belonging to the groups +Fitna al-Khawarij+ and +Fitna al-Hind+ and their allied groups," referring to the armed groups that were targeted.
For its part, the Afghan government announced the death of 9 civilians in Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan late Wednesday to Thursday, with one of those attacks hitting Helmand province in the south of the country.
Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated via the platform "X" that the airstrikes on the provinces of Helmand and Kunar (east) bordering Pakistan also resulted in the injury of 11 individuals and the destruction of three houses.
