Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed today, Friday, that the continuation of the American sanctions imposed on his country will lead to a worsening of the situation, stressing the importance of adopting dialogue instead of a policy of force in dealing with Tehran.
He also reiterated that Iran does not seek a nuclear weapon and is ready for dialogue, in conjunction with reports about Trump discussing plans to resume fighting.
During his meetings in Armenia, Pezeshkian stressed that "Iran cannot be subjected to sanctions," pointing out that "the United States must know that Iran will strongly continue its relations with the world, relying on its people and in coordination with its neighbors."
Pezeshkian referred to the US sanctions imposed on Iran, stressing that “the United States has not only caused problems for us, but also for the entire world, and if it wants to continue on this path, the situation will get worse for the entire world, and therefore it is better to resort to dialogue with logic instead of using force.”
This Friday afternoon, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and held talks with him on the sidelines of the summit of the Seventeenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
During this meeting, the Iranian President stressed the necessity of preparing a long-term strategic program between the two countries in the mining, commercial, economic, tourism and cultural fields, stressing that “preparing a strategic program between the two countries could lead to deepening their relations in various sectors.”
Pezeshkian pointed out that "deepening relations between the two countries will lead to stability and security in the region."
