Doha - Afaq News - The spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Doha has been exchanging various ideas for about two weeks regarding the possibility of resuming talks between Iran and the United States.
He added that the Qatari mediation team is working with Tehran and Washington to explore opportunities for resuming negotiations, noting that the mediators are moving between different capitals in hopes of making progress.
He clarified that Doha has received assurances from officials in the U.S. administration that Washington is eager to reach an agreement.
The spokesperson emphasized that Qatar calls for a regional solution that achieves stability and international understanding to protect waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz, warning that subjecting waterways to the sovereignty of one state and using them as a tool of pressure represents a 'dangerous precedent.'
