The 27-year-old became the first Saudi player to participate as a starter during a Champions League match in history.

Saud Abdel Hamid played a match that the Lans club lost to the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, with a score of 0-2, at the “Poulart Delellis” stadium, on Tuesday, in the second round of the European competition. Saud Abdul Hamid’s teammates at Lens Club froze at the third point in 16th place on the league stage standings.

Saudi Prince Abdullah bin Musaed interacted with his compatriot’s achievement, as he wrote through his account on the “X” platform: “Saud Abdul Hamid will be the first Saudi player to participate as a starter in a match in the Champions League. Good luck, God willing. Osama Hawsawi was previously on the list of Anderlecht (a Belgian club) in the year of their participation in the Champions League.”
