Strikes Target Houthis Near Bab al-Mandab.. Destruction of 5 Vehicles and Death of a Leader

The Southern Giants Brigades in the Yemeni government forces announced on Sunday evening the destruction of 5 military vehicles belonging to the Houthi militia, resulting in the death of all personnel on board in the Khaboub front near Bab al-Mandab.

Field sources reported that the direct targeting included a vehicle belonging to a field leader in the militia, in addition to a military vehicle carrying anti-aircraft weapons of 23 mm caliber, along with three other vehicles transporting armed elements and reinforcements for the same faction.

The Giants Brigades published a video clip documenting the moment of spotting and targeting those vehicles, which resulted in their complete destruction and burning, and the death of everyone on board.

Additionally, the Khaboub front, overlooking Bab al-Mandab, has witnessed escalating confrontations in recent days, coinciding with the Houthi militia sending reinforcements to the area and its attempts to advance and control strategic mountain sites and heights.

In contrast, government forces intensified their shelling operations and targeting of Houthi reinforcements arriving at the Khaboub front, using warplanes, artillery, guided missiles, and drones.

It is noteworthy that the Khaboub axis holds military significance due to its location in an elevated area overlooking the roads and passages surrounding the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

According to military sources, government forces are working to secure their positions in the Khaboub heights, which will allow them to move towards the Dhobab area, at a time when the sites and islands near Bab al-Mandab, including Meun, Zaqr, and Hanish, gain strategic importance in controlling the maritime passage.
