- The Yemeni Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced on Saturday that it targeted the "Aramco" oil company in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, as part of the escalation between the Iran-backed group and the Yemeni government forces supported by the Kingdom. The military spokesperson for the Houthis, Yahya Saree, stated in a statement published on social media that they carried out a "qualitative military operation using a number of ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Aramco company" in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, adding that the operation "successfully achieved its goal."
The statement added that the strikes were "accurate and direct, leading to fires at the targeted sites." Saudi Arabia has not yet commented on the Houthi announcement.
For its part, the forces affiliated with the internationally recognized Yemeni government announced on Wednesday the "execution of (257) precise targeting operations against the sites, movements, and military capabilities of the Houthi terrorist militias backed by the Iranian regime, using warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers." According to an official statement, the operations included "Sanaa, Midi, Baqim, and the fronts of Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, and Lahij, with a focus on operational efforts on the Taiz fronts, targeting command and control centers, gatherings, reinforcements, combat reserves, and weapons and ammunition depots, as well as military supply lines and means." The statement published on social media platforms indicated that the operations resulted in "neutralizing no less than (700) militia elements, destroying strategic and high-value military targets, and destroying (170) combat means and vehicles."
With the ongoing escalation between the two sides, the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, affiliated with the internationally recognized government, announced the launch of "general mobilization and community alert" as part of the ongoing fighting with the Houthis on various fronts in Yemen. Defense Minister Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili announced in statements reported by the official government news agency Saba, "the practical measures to implement the decision of general mobilization and public alert, activating human mobilization paths and reserves, organizing reception centers, and assigning various entities to begin implementing the tasks assigned to them, each in their respective area."
