The Qatari Cabinet renewed its country's condemnation in the strongest terms of the repeated attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi group on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, considering that they represent a serious violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of the region and the safety of civilians, civilian objects and air navigation.

During its meeting today, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Council affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for it in all legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and interests, stressing that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of the security of Qatar and the collective security system of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers praised the speech of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, before the Shura Council, yesterday, Tuesday, and the constants of the state’s foreign policy, the most important of which is continued cooperation and coordination with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, considering their security and the protection of their sovereignty and stability as something that cannot be tolerated.

The Council stressed adherence to dialogue and peaceful solutions, emphasizing that this does not mean complacency in defending the homeland, in addition to seeking comprehensive and fair political solutions to the region’s crises that preserve the unity of states and the integrity of their territories, and achieve the interests of the peoples in security, stability and development, while placing the Palestinian issue at the top of priorities.

In another context, the Qatari Council of Ministers approved two draft laws, a draft resolution, and two memorandums of understanding in the areas of children’s rights, digital protection, the environment, judicial cooperation, transportation, and logistics services.

The approvals included a draft law on children’s rights, prepared by the Ministry of Social Development and Family as part of its strategy (2025-2030), with the aim of establishing a comprehensive legislative framework for caring for children, safeguarding their rights, and ensuring their upbringing in a safe and stable environment, in a way that strengthens their protection system and achieves their best interests.

The Council decided to present the draft law on the Qatari legal portal (Al-Meezan) and the (Sharek) platform for a period of 10 days to poll opinions, in preparation for referring it to legislative review in accordance with the approved procedures.

He also approved the draft law on digital protection for children, after reviewing the study prepared by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in coordination with the competent authorities, regarding the proposal submitted by the Shura Council, and decided to complete the procedures established regarding it.

The Council also reviewed a study prepared by the competent committee of the Ministry of Social Development and Family regarding the current situation of digital safety for children and adolescents in the country, and assigned the Ministry to take the necessary measures in coordination with the relevant authorities.

In the environmental field, the Council of Ministers approved a draft decision of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change to issue a radiation practice guide for nuclear standards and well soundings, which was prepared in cooperation with Qatar Energy, with the aim of regulating relevant radiological activities in accordance with safety standards issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency, strengthening control over the use of radioactive sources and protecting workers, the public and the environment.

The Council decided to present the draft decision on the Qatari legal portal (Al-Mizan) and the (Sharek) platform for a period of 7 days to poll opinion, before referring it to legislative review.

The Council also approved a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Qatari Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, and a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of transport and supportive logistics services between the governments of Qatar and Bahrain.

At the conclusion of its meeting, the Council reviewed a number of reports, including the results of the work of the Technical Committee to Study Government Service Fees, the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security, the results of the Minister of Labor’s visit to North Macedonia, and the Minister of Municipality’s participation in the meeting of the Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security Committee for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the appropriate decisions were taken regarding them.
