The occupation continues to prevent the entry of Palestinian plastic products into Gaza

Ramallah - Ofoq News - Day after day, the Israeli ban on Palestinian products expands, including plastic industries, which are now prohibited from entering the Gaza Strip, in a move that threatens dozens of national factories with closure and incurring great losses.

Muhammad Ali Ramadan, head of the Palestinian Plastic Industries Federation, told Ofoq News that the national plastic factories were supplying large quantities of their products to the Gaza Strip, estimated at about 1,500 tons per day, making the Gaza market an essential and indispensable marketing outlet.

Ramadan explained that preventing the entry of these products into Gaza constitutes a direct blow to the industrial sector, and leads to the accumulation of stock in warehouses, the disruption of production lines, and a decline in job opportunities.

He added: "The Palestinian plastic industry has large production capabilities, and provides basic products for multiple sectors, from packaging, agriculture, and construction to home and health use."

He continued: "Continuing to prevent national products from reaching the Gaza Strip imposes additional burdens on factories that are already suffering from difficult economic conditions, due to barriers and high costs of transportation and raw materials."

Ramadan called on the relevant official and international bodies to intervene urgently to facilitate the entry of Palestinian plastic products into the Gaza Strip, and to open the way for national factories to market their production, ensuring the protection of the local industry, preserving job opportunities, and enhancing economic integration between the Palestinian governorates.
