U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pisent commented on Wednesday regarding the announcement of adding 10 new Iranian individuals and entities to the sanctions list imposed on Tehran. The U.S. Secretary stated in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account: "As part of the 'Economic Outcast Operation,' the Treasury Department will continue to target and disrupt those that provide material, technical, or financial support that enables the Iranian regime to continue its terrorist agenda.
The department will not tolerate any support for the regime and will continue to identify, expose, and isolate those that empower Iran." Below are the names and entities that the U.S. Treasury has included in the sanctions list: As a representative of the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics in Beijing, Mr. Asghar Ali Zadeh Tabatabai is responsible for coordinating the purchase of complete weapon systems and dual-use components from China on behalf of Iran.
The Iranian-based group 'Kavoshkom Asia' for research and development has purchased electronics - including connectors - for the Iranian Aircraft Manufacturing Company, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics and specializes in developing drones and military aircraft. 'Kavoshkom' has also supplied electronics to the 'Martyr Baqeri Industrial Group,' which is affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Defense's Aerospace Industries Organization and is responsible for Iran's solid-fuel ballistic missile program. Ali Fotovat Ahmadi, residing in Iran, serves as the director of 'Kavoshkom' and has signed correspondence directed to a company on behalf of 'Kavoshkom.' The Hong Kong-based company 'EC Mojo Technology Co Limited' provided electronic components in support of the purchasing efforts being conducted by 'Kavoshkom.'
Li Fen, a representative of 'EC Mojo' in China, attempted to evade sanctions and export controls while providing services to support 'Kavoshkom's' purchasing operations. Additionally, Parisa Lali, a representative of 'Kavoshkom' in Iran, facilitated the purchases made by 'Kavoshkom.'
'Kavoshkom' is listed under the sanctions pursuant to Executive Order 13382 for providing - or attempting to provide - financial, material, technological, or other support, or supplying goods or services in support of the Iranian Ministry of Defense. Ali Fotovat Ahmadi is listed under Executive Order 13382 for acting - or claiming to act - on behalf of or for 'Kavoshkom,' either directly or indirectly.
Both "EC Mojo" and Li Fin and Parisa Lali are listed under Executive Order 13382 for providing - or attempting to provide - financial, material, technological, or other support, or for supplying goods or services in support of "Kavoshkom". Waseem Pasha Tajmal, residing in Pakistan, serves as the Chairman of the Board of the "Kavalier" Group, a privately owned defense company with locations in Pakistan and other countries.
Both Tajmal and the "Kavalier" Group act as intermediaries for the Ministry of Defense and support the Iranian Armed Forces, benefiting from Tajmal's professional network to purchase and distribute weapons on behalf of the mentioned ministry. Tajmal is the largest shareholder and CEO of "Kavalier Dynamics Private Limited" based in Pakistan.
Additionally, Tajmal holds the position of Director of "Kavalier Dynamics Technologies" based in Saudi Arabia, a company wholly owned by "Kavalier Dynamics Private Limited". Tajmal is also the director and sole shareholder of "Kavalier Dynamics Technology Ticaret Anonim Şirketi" based in Turkey.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Office of Foreign Assets Control) is taking action against "Kavalier Dynamics Technologies" in coordination with partners in the Saudi government. Tajmal's name is listed under Executive Order 13382 for providing - or attempting to provide - financial, material, technological, or other support, or for supplying goods or services in support of the Ministry of Defense and the Iranian Armed Forces.
The companies "Kavalier Dynamics Private Limited", "Kavalier Dynamics Technologies", and "Kavalier Dynamics Technology Ticaret Anonim Şirketi" are also listed under Executive Order 13382 for being owned or controlled by Tajmal, or for acting - or claiming to act - on behalf of Tajmal, either directly or indirectly.
