In the 31st minute, Al-Hilal's winger, Cresencio Summerville, exchanged words with the opponent's defender, Abdulrahman Al-Rashidi, before they started pushing and pulling each other's shirts near the sideline.

At that moment, Summerville forcefully pushed the opposing player, causing the latter to fall to the ground. Then, Al-Gharafa's midfielder, Ismail Bennacer, pulled Cresencio Summerville's hair, which escalated into a verbal exchange and a collective fight between the players of both teams.
