Egyptian singer Khaled Selim has returned to his artistic activity again, after recovering from a difficult health crisis that he suffered during the past few days, which forced him to bed.
Slim said, in exclusive statements to Al Arabiya.net, that he went through a severe health illness as a result of pneumonia, which caused him great difficulty breathing and a persistent cough, which deprived him of sleep for several days.
He also explained that his condition reached the point of remaining 4 consecutive days without sleep, due to complications that accompanied the disease.
He also pointed out that the health crisis took him by surprise, even though he had quit smoking before, pointing out that he had to move to the hospital to receive treatment.
He added that he underwent an intensive treatment program under the supervision of a specialized doctor, and was able to respond to treatment within a short period, in light of his association with a number of concerts within the activities of the Arab Music Festival.
Slim also revealed that he was afraid that his health condition would prevent him from participating in those concerts, especially with the limited time and the approaching dates of the scheduled performances.
He confirmed that he informed the festival officials of his recovery, noting that he will perform a concert on October 26 at the Grand Theater of the Cairo Opera House, while he will meet his fans again in a second concert on October 28 in Alexandria.
Khaled Selim is one of the most prominent Egyptian singers who combined singing and acting. He was born in Kuwait in 1975, and spent his school years there until high school, before returning to Egypt and joining Cairo University, where he earned the title of first university singer and university youth singer.
During his artistic career, he presented a number of albums that achieved popular success, including “Another World,” “Ayyam Zaman,” “What the Secret,” and “We Were and Was.”
While his career was not limited to singing, he also participated in a number of cinematic works, the most notable of which are “First Year of Monument,” “The Day of Your Love,” and “Special Operations.”
