Abu Aram Approaches TİKA for Support of Carmel Projects

Ramallah - Afaq News - The Mayor of Karmel, Qassem Abu Aram, along with members of the municipal council and municipal employees, discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and open new horizons for partnership in priority development areas for Karmel during an official visit to the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) office in Palestine in Ramallah.

The municipal delegation was received by Rami Sab-Lebn, Assistant Program Coordinator in Palestine, and Engineer Dawood Qutina, Project Manager. During the meeting, the reality of Karmel town and its developmental and service needs were reviewed, along with the challenges facing the municipality and the local community, in addition to highlighting the importance of Karmel's location and the extension of its services to the population clusters in Masafer Yatta.

Abu Aram presented several developmental projects and initiatives that the municipality seeks to implement in the upcoming phase, aiming to revitalize the economic reality in Karmel, alleviate the economic pressures resulting from the current situation, and create job opportunities for youth and women in Karmel within the vision and plan of the Karmel municipality. He emphasized the importance of building effective partnerships with supporting institutions and entities to contribute to enhancing the resilience of the local community, improving service levels, and responding to the increasing developmental needs in Karmel and its surroundings.

For his part, Sab-Lebn welcomed the Karmel municipality delegation, affirming the importance of the visit and the discussion of developmental needs and priorities, expressing the agency's readiness to listen to the municipality's proposals and study possible cooperation opportunities within the programs and projects implemented by the agency in Palestine.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing communication and coordination in the upcoming phase, discussing priority projects and the possibility of developing them in line with the actual needs of the local community and the available capabilities.

At the end of the visit, the Mayor of Carmel presented a commemorative shield embroidered with works from the "Niqsha" operational project affiliated with the Carmel Community Municipality Center, in appreciation of the warm reception and cooperation, and to introduce the heritage products that reflect the cultural and community identity of Carmel.
