After a "Catastrophic Night".. Modric Issues a Harsh Criticism to Croatian Players and Demands This Behavior Immediately

- Luka Modric criticized himself and his teammates in the Croatian national team after the heavy loss to England with a score of 0-7 at their home ground on Saturday, in the third round of the UEFA Nations League. This result is one of the heaviest defeats that the Croatian national team has faced in its history.

In statements reported by "TNT SPORTS" on Sunday, Modric said: "No duels, no aggression, no fouls, no unity, I have been here for 20 years, and I have to say that I feel ashamed for the first time after a match." He added: "From the first minute to the last, to play this way, this is not how football should be played."

He continued: "Even if I played with fewer players, I couldn't play this way, and it seemed as if we were playing with four or five players less, a catastrophic night." The 41-year-old added: "Playing this way is unacceptable; if we were playing against a third division team, we would have lost. There is no point in talking about tactics because everything starts with desire, will, fighting spirit, aggression, determination, and confrontations."

He further stated: "Simply, we should not point fingers at each other and look for someone to blame." The player, who has represented the Croatian national team since March 2006, explained: "We need to be united in this; we have come back from more difficult situations; we have suffered heavy defeats, but I have never felt this way after a match with the national team."

Luka Modric concluded: "We need to come together and stay united because another tough match awaits us; we need to show our true face, to show challenge and pride, desire and will, and unity; we cannot lose that overnight." The Croatian national team will face Spain next Tuesday at the "Poljud" stadium in the fourth round.
