Al-Koum and Al-Morak Municipality Discuss Threatened Areas and Settler Attacks with Police Delegation

Hebron - Afaq News - The municipality of Al-Koum and Al-Mawraq discussed the conditions of threatened areas and the assaults faced by citizens, their lands, and properties during their reception of a delegation from the Palestinian police, which included Colonel Alaa Al-Izza, the officer in charge of the wall and settlement file, and Colonel Muhammad Ghannam, along with Dr. Mona Abu Hamdiya, a researcher in Palestinian affairs.
The meeting addressed several issues related to the threatened areas and the ground reality in regions subjected to assaults and violations by settlers, in addition to discussing ways to enhance coordination and cooperation to follow up on these issues and protect citizens, their lands, and properties.
The municipality of Al-Koum and Al-Mawraq emphasized the importance of continuing communication and coordination with official and specialized bodies, monitoring the conditions of citizens in threatened areas, and enhancing joint work to support their steadfastness and preserve their lands and properties.
For his part, Colonel Alaa Al-Izza stressed the importance of following up on issues related to the wall, settlements, and the assaults faced by areas and citizens, and enhancing coordination with the municipality and relevant bodies within official and legal frameworks.
Following the meeting, the delegation, accompanied by the mayor of Al-Koum and Al-Mawraq, Dr. Ahmad Rajoub, and members of the municipal council, conducted a field tour in the areas of Hamasa and Farjas to closely observe the ground conditions, inspect the threatened and affected areas, and listen to citizens about their reality and needs.
The tour included an inspection of the damage inflicted on several agricultural lands, crops, olive trees, and properties, in addition to checking the areas that are witnessing assaults and restrictions on citizens.
At the end of the tour, the participants emphasized the importance of continuing field monitoring and coordination between the municipality, police, and relevant official bodies, which contributes to following up on citizens' issues, protecting their lands and properties, and enhancing their resilience in threatened areas.
