Amr Moussa comments on the victory of Abdul Rahman Al-Sayed and Adam Hamwi in the American elections

- The former Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Amr Moussa, commented on Saturday on the victory of Abdel-Rahman El-Sayed and Adam Hamwy, Americans of Egyptian descent, for membership in the US Senate and House of Representatives, considering that this reflects new conditions in the American political milieu, which could prompt a reconsideration and a new concept of the meaning and content of “changing the Middle East.” Amr Moussa wrote in a post on his official account on the “X” platform, Twitter previously: “I congratulate Dr. Abdel-Rahman El-Sayed (Abdul) and Dr. Adam Hamwy, who are Americans of Egyptian origin, on winning membership in the Senate and House of Representatives in the United States.” The former Secretary-General of the League of Arab States added: “I also congratulate all Americans of Arab origin who were elected to membership in the US Congress or to membership in state parliaments or local administrations.” Amr Moussa went on to say: “This victory reflects new conditions and perhaps new ideas in the American political milieu, which could prompt a reconsideration and a new concept of the meaning and content of “changing the Middle East.”

It is not limited to the Arabs, but includes Israel and other non-Arab countries in the region, such as Iran, which will correct the path towards sound peace settlements and the return of international law to implementation and respect.” Amr Moussa concluded his post by saying: “Perhaps this development will push to a stage in which the American vision expands, to place the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people at the heart of any serious effort towards establishing stable peace in the Middle East, and to a strong movement towards regional development,” he said. Democrat Abdul Rahman Al-Sayyid, a former public health official, won the Republican candidate and former House of Representatives member Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race, which represents a victory for the progressive wing of the Democratic Party in one of the electorally decisive states.

Abdul Rahman Al-Sayed, whose family has Egyptian origins, entered history. He will become the country's first Muslim senator when he is sworn in next January. Abdul Rahman Al-Sayed differs greatly from traditional politicians. At 42, he usually wears a tight V-neck shirt, a rubber-strap dive watch, jeans and dark sneakers.

The American doctor and surgeon of Egyptian origin, Adam Hamwi, also achieved an achievement after winning a seat in the House of Representatives, becoming the first Muslim to hold this position in the state of New Jersey.
