An exceptional curfew on soldiers.. “Zamir” pushes the oppressed into the West Bank before the elections

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - The Israeli army decided to prevent its soldiers from leaving their bases and impose a curfew on its units starting next Thursday, in preparation for the Knesset elections scheduled for Tuesday, according to what the army spokesman announced.

This came in conjunction with raising the state of alert and strengthening forces in the West Bank, especially in its northern and central regions.

This directive came as part of a series of operational measures taken in light of the army’s preparations for the election period, and raising the level of preparedness in all sectors.

The decision came after an assessment of the situation conducted by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, with the aim of ensuring security readiness and holding the elections on time.

Zamir also directed to strengthen the presence of senior commanders in command centers and military units, and to allocate additional forces to various sectors according to operational needs.
