The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, responded on Saturday to the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, in which he spoke about Europe’s losses due to the Iran war. Araqchi stressed that there are no “red lines” anymore, according to what was reported by the official Iranian “IRNA” news agency. Araqchi wrote in a blog post on his official account on the “X” platform, previously Twitter: “When the Israeli-American strikes on Iran began last year, Mr. Meretz praised them, describing them as (doing dirty work on behalf of Europe),” according to his description.
The Iranian Foreign Minister added, "The amount of 100 billion euros is worth nothing compared to the earth-shattering blow that the powerful Iranian armed forces will deliver against everyone who dares to harm our people." The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized: “Red lines have become a thing of the past.” Abbas Araghchi's post came after the German Chancellor, at the conclusion of his visit to South Korea on Friday, called on the conflicting parties to give priority to the diplomatic path to end the conflict in Iran. "Over the past eight months, the costs incurred by Europe alone have amounted to more than 100 billion euros due to the rise in energy prices resulting from this conflict," Mertz explained.
