The Sudanese Doctors Network accused the Rapid Support Forces today, Saturday, of executing more than 25 civilians in the Um Bader area of North Kordofan state.
The network stated in a press release that it "strongly condemns what was shown in a circulated video documenting elements belonging to the Rapid Support Forces executing more than 25 civilians in the Um Bader area of North Kordofan."
It added that "the seriousness of this crime increases with the emergence of indications that the killings were carried out on an ethnic basis and under pretexts related to accusing the victims of bias or siding with the armed forces."
These accusations come amid ongoing escalation between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, accompanied by casualties and injuries among civilians and a worsening humanitarian situation in several states of the country.
Sudan has been witnessing a war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 59,000 people and caused the displacement of about 13 million, while more than 30 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.
