Fire and Smoke Near an Aramco Facility South of Riyadh

Riyadh - Ofok News - A witness told Reuters that a fire broke out and a large cloud of smoke rose around a facility belonging to Saudi Aramco in the capital Riyadh today, Saturday.

Saudi authorities have not yet issued any confirmation regarding the fire, nor has Aramco commented on the incident or responded to a request for comment.

The incident comes amid rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni Houthi group, which has recently intensified its attacks on Saudi cities and energy facilities in the kingdom.

No party has claimed responsibility for the fire so far.

Last week, the Houthis announced that they targeted facilities belonging to Aramco in the city of Yanbu using missiles and drones, while Saudi Arabia stated that it intercepted 6 ballistic missiles launched towards Taif and the Yanbu area, without reporting any damage to Aramco facilities.
