- Flydubai announced on Wednesday that it will temporarily suspend its flights to and from Israel, amid an ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred on one of its flights during the flight. A Flydubai flight heading to Israel was forced to change its course and land in Saudi Arabia after passengers on board thwarted a suspected hijacking attempt.
A company spokesperson said: "The safety and well-being of our passengers, crew, and operations remain our top priority, and this temporary suspension will allow the relevant authorities to continue their work and determine all the facts related to the incident." The spokesperson added that Flydubai apologizes to passengers "whose travel plans have been affected, and is working to provide support and alternative arrangements where possible."
It is worth noting that the company operates daily round-trip flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv, a route that is very popular among Israeli citizens, according to a report by Reuters.
