Tel Aviv - Afaq News - The incident that occurred on board the "Fly Dubai" flight heading from the UAE to Ben Gurion Airport reflected on the shares of Israeli airlines, as their stocks recorded a notable increase during the hours following the emergency landing of the aircraft in Saudi Arabia.
According to circulating data, the share value of "El Al" increased by 7.82%, while the share of "Israir" jumped by 6.72%. As for "Arkia", the third Israeli airline, its shares are not traded on the stock exchange.
The rise in the shares of Israeli airlines comes in the wake of the incident that occurred on board the "Fly Dubai" flight, which made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the co-pilot was suspected of attacking the captain and attempting to crash the plane.
According to initial investigations, there is suspicion that the co-pilot attempted suicide and to crash the aircraft, while Israeli authorities estimate that the incident may have a terrorist background.
According to reports, the co-pilot began stabbing the captain of the aircraft several times before several crew members and passengers managed to open the cockpit door and subdue him.
Editorial Note: I kept the stock price increases as they appeared in the original text, and I did not treat them as a direct result of the incident, as the text presents that in a temporal context rather than as evidence of causality for the increase.
