The Egyptian artistic scene is currently witnessing a remarkable phenomenon, with the return of a number of the most famous films that have been etched in the audience's memory to the forefront once again, after the successes achieved by these works encouraged their creators to embark on the experience of presenting second parts, capitalizing on their popular appeal.
The first of these surprises is the actual preparations for the second part of the film 'The Knowing' (العارف), which began after a meeting between its star, actor Ahmed Ezz, and the producer to agree on the details of the work. Despite Ezz's current engagement in filming his new movie 'Death Squad' (فرقة الموت), he has started early preparations for the second part, eager to continue the success of the first film released in 2021.
On another note, after nearly 23 years since the release of the romantic film 'Sahar Al-Layali' (سهر الليالي), screenwriter Tamer Habib announced his official contract with a production company to begin writing the second part.
Habib clarified in exclusive statements to 'Al Arabiya.net' and 'Al Hadath.net' that the delay in starting the project is due to his refusal to present a new part without a strong link and a dramatic justification that warrants the use of the original film's name.
He also confirmed that the second part will not rely on the seven heroes of the first film, given that some of them are absent from the artistic scene, but will focus on a group of young stars who are no older than 35 years, expressing his hope to have some of the stars from the first part as guest appearances.
In a related context, artist Ahmed El Sakka revealed to "Al Arabiya.net" and "Al Hadath.net" that he has contracted to present the second part of his famous film "Mafia," which was one of the most prominent milestones in his cinematic career since its release in 2000.
El Sakka stated that he met with director Sherif Arafa and presented the new idea to him, which he liked, while formal agreements are currently being made with several stars from the first part to participate in the work.
Additionally, Hamada Helal has joined the list, announcing after more than 15 years his entry into the writing and preparation phase for the second part of his film "Helm El Omr," expressing his enthusiasm for the work, which he described as one of his most successful artistic milestones, achieving him wide popularity and cinematic recognition.
As for the anticipated comedy works, actor Hani Ramzy confirmed to "Al Arabiya.net" the existence of a creative workshop headed by writers Amjad El Sharkawy and Shady Mohsen to write the second part of the film "Ghaby Menho Feh."
Ramzy pointed out that the biggest challenge lies in the absence of several artists who have passed away and were key elements in the success of the first part, including Hassan Hosny, Talaat Zakaria, Faiq Azab, and Said Tarabik.
He also explained that overcoming this challenge will be through placing the character 'Sultan' in new and difficult situations that produce comedic contrasts, with the participation of actress Nelly Karim in the lead role.
Finally, the film 'Bank of Luck' has entered the actual preparation phase for a second part, after a period of hesitation among its stars since the film was released in 2017.
This shift came after the success of the writers Mostafa Saqr and Mohamed Ezz in coming up with a new idea for the second part, which encouraged artists Akram Hosny and Mohamed Mamdouh to take on the experience again.
