The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries discussed the strategy for joint Gulf action in the field of labor and workforce, and the inclusion of citizens of the member states in the localization rates.
This came during the twelfth meeting of the Undersecretaries of Labor Ministries in the GCC, which was held via video conference, chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, with the participation of the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC, Khalid Al-Sunaidi, and the relevant labor ministry undersecretaries from the member states.
The meeting discussed topics in preparation for submitting them to the Council of Ministers of Labor for approval and issuing decisions regarding them, during the committee meeting scheduled to be held on October 8, 2026, in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is currently presiding over the session.
This comes in implementation of the interest that the leaders of the GCC countries have given to the labor sector, and their keenness to create favorable conditions for workers in it, which enhances their role in the comprehensive development journey witnessed by the member states.
