Bethlehem - Afaq News - The head of the Israeli settlements council in the West Bank, Israel Gantz, called on the occupation government to carry out a large-scale military operation against the Palestinian Authority and its security apparatuses, following the killing of an Israeli settler in a shooting near the Nofei Prat settlement northwest of Ramallah.
Gantz stated that the Israeli government must act to "dismantle the Palestinian Authority and its apparatuses from their weapons," claiming that the continued existence of the Authority poses a danger to Israel.
An Israeli settler was killed in a shooting near one of the springs in the Benjamin area, while the occupation forces later announced the arrest of the perpetrator of the operation.
Gantz's statements come amid ongoing security escalation in the West Bank, and just before the start of the Jewish Day of Atonement.
