Washington - Afaq News - Hunter Biden, the son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, stated that Israel was aware in advance of Hamas's plans to carry out the attack on October 7, 2023, and accused it of allowing the attack to occur in order to create conditions for military plans in the Gaza Strip that would not have received international approval had the attack not taken place.
Hunter Biden's remarks came during an interview with British Broadcasting Corporation "LBC," where he discussed his father's stance on Israel and the war in Gaza, referring to a report he described as "explosive," which he said indicates that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was aware in advance of the attack plans and did not take sufficient measures to prevent it.
Biden added that Israel, as he believes, "knew what would happen and allowed it to occur" with the aim of implementing a plan in Gaza, considering that this plan would not have received the "green light" under normal circumstances.
However, he did not provide any new evidence during the interview to prove the existence of coordination or a deliberate Israeli decision to allow the attack to occur.
Hunter Biden based his comments on an Israeli news report regarding alleged warnings about Hamas's intentions prior to the October 7 attack.
Netanyahu denied the validity of this narrative, while other reports indicated failures in dealing with indicators and warnings that preceded the attack, but these do not in themselves prove the existence of a conspiracy to allow it to occur intentionally.
In the same context, Hunter Biden described what is happening in the Gaza Strip as "resembling genocide," acknowledging that the term carries extremely sensitive connotations, and he criticized Netanyahu's government's policies towards Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
His statements come at a time when the circumstances surrounding the security and political failures that preceded the October 7 attack are still under discussion and investigation within Israel, while the issue of whether there was a prior intention to allow the attack remains a subject of political and media accusations that have not been substantiated by the available evidence so far.
