The Yemeni government forces announced the launch of a swift military operation that ended with the control of positions in the districts of Al-Waziyah in Taiz and Al-Mudharabah in Lahij.
The Yemeni forces indicated in a statement today, Friday, that the control of Mount Numan enhances the security of the villages in the Wadi Al-Mudharabah and the outskirts of Al-Waziyah, as the mountain overlooks the supply lines between Al-Waziyah and Al-Mudharabah.
The "National Shield Forces" also clarified that they, supported by the Giants and tribal fighters, took control of the summit of Mount Numan and Dar Al-Kafir overlooking Al-Waziyah and Al-Mudharabah in Lahij Governorate, through a swift operation that began with a well-planned night infiltration followed by encircling and storming the site at dawn, which forced the Houthi militia elements to flee, leaving behind human losses, weapons, and ammunition.
Mount Numan is considered one of the strategic sites due to its oversight of the supply lines between Al-Waziyah and Al-Mudharabah, and the militia's use of it to monitor the area and shell the surrounding villages and sites.
The control of the summit also contributes to securing the villages of Wadi Al-Mudharabah and the outskirts of Al-Waziyah, limiting sources of threat and Houthi shelling, and cutting off one of the important infiltration routes.
These battlefield developments come amid ongoing fighting between Yemeni forces and Houthi militias in several provinces, particularly in Taiz and the western coast.
In recent weeks, the control map in Yemen has witnessed changes amid clashes between government forces and the Houthis, after the militia advanced on the western coast and took control of the coastal city of Al-Mokha and other strategic locations, including the island of Meon located at the entrance to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
These areas gain special importance due to their location overlooking Bab al-Mandab, one of the most prominent maritime passages connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, which has raised concerns about the security of navigation and international trade.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni forces announced the reorganization of their ranks, affirming their determination to return to the western coast and regain the areas they lost during the recent confrontations.
