Injuries from Suffocation Among Citizens.. Settlers Attack Olive Harvesters and Their Homes in Marda

Salfit - Afaq News - A group of settlers attacked olive harvesters today in the northeastern area of the village of Marda, north of Salfit, and assaulted them physically. They also attacked several citizens' homes and vehicles in the area, while Israeli occupation forces intervened, resulting in several locals suffering from tear gas inhalation.

The head of the Marda village council, Sadiq Al-Khafsh, reported that a group of settlers attacked farmers while they were harvesting olives in their lands. They also attacked several citizens' homes in the northeastern part of the village, noting that the settlers stole agricultural equipment and olives, assaulted several citizens, and smashed the windows of some of their vehicles.

He added that occupation soldiers arrived at the scene and fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at the citizens and around their homes, causing several locals to suffer from suffocation, who were treated on-site.

Al-Khafsh explained that the occupation forces stormed several citizens' homes in the village and tampered with their contents, while also vandalizing furniture and belongings inside one of the houses, and physically assaulting its owners. They detained several young men before releasing them and arrested three others.

He confirmed that the occupation forces continue to storm the village and spread in several of its areas, amid a state of tension and alertness among the locals, in light of the ongoing assaults on farmers during the olive harvesting season.
