Tehran - Afaq News - Iranian television reported this evening, Saturday, that an explosion was heard in the Strait of Hormuz, coinciding with the targeting of a commercial ship that was navigating a maritime route towards the Sultanate of Oman, in an incident for which no independent official confirmation has been issued so far.
The Iranian channel "Khabar" mentioned that the oil tanker "Ore Vinst" was said to have been sailing under the protection of an American escort, and it stopped operating its tracking system as soon as it entered the Strait of Hormuz.
The channel added that the Greek tanker "Athenagoras" was on its way out of the Sultanate of Oman towards the Gulf, without sending signals via the tracking system, according to circulated posts.
In the same context, the account "Hormuz Report" claimed that Iran began targeting ships escorted by the American navy while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, without providing independent evidence to support the validity of this information.
