Katie Zakaria...Trump announces Caroline Levitt's successor in the White House...and sources reveal to Ofoq News the behind the scenes of her selection

US President Donald Trump chose Katie Zakaria - a conservative commentator who briefly worked at the Department of Homeland Security - to be the new White House spokeswoman. Zakaria expressed her thanks to Trump in a post on social media, Friday, where she wrote: “Serving President Trump and the American people at this crucial historical milestone, which marks the 250th anniversary, is the honor of a lifetime.”

Announcing her selection, Trump highlighted her work for Truth Social and Trump Media and Technology Group, as well as her frequent appearances on Fox and Newsmax. “She has an exemplary record of support, and has been a loyal and accomplished advocate from the beginning,” Trump added.

A source familiar with the discussions stated that Trump had made contact in recent days with a number of his close allies and advisors - including former White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt - to seek their opinions regarding Zakaria. The source indicated that Trump sought Levitt's advice before making his final decision and offering the position to Zakaria.

Ofoq News Network contacted Zakaria, who was present in the Oval Office with Trump earlier Friday morning, according to an informed source. Zachariah's choice came quickly; Another informed source reported that she was not among the candidates for this position until last week.

During the search for a replacement for Levitt, the White House faced challenges involving well-known names, many of whom had previously criticized Trump. According to a White House official, senior officials on several occasions narrowed the list of candidates, only to later discover that some of them had made negative statements about the US President, which led to their exclusion from running for the position.

“The mission ahead is to continue achieving strong results for our country, and inform the American people of the major accomplishments this administration is making day after day,” Zakaria wrote on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter). She added: “I look forward to working with the White House press staff and reporters from across the country to highlight this track record,” noting that “Carolyn Levitt’s remarkable succession sets a high standard worth striving to live up to.”

Zakaria has been a frequent guest on Fox, Newsmax, and Ufoq News. “She's a friend of most of you," Trump told reporters as he left the White House on Friday. "Actually, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but we just hired a new White House spokeswoman, and I think she's going to be great."

Zakaria has served as a senior communications advisor for the Trump Media and Technology Group and the Truth Social platform since June, after a two-month stint as a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security. These are experiences that Trump also highlighted in his social media post, in addition to her work in his election campaigns. Zakaria, who has young children and lives in California, traveled back and forth to Washington during her temporary work at the Department of Homeland Security.

According to a source familiar with the matter, she told a friend of hers at the time that this constant movement was not something she could continue for a long time. Zakaria worked as a legal advisor to Fix California, a conservative group founded by Richard Grenell, a Trump ally.

She first arrived in Washington as an intern at the Republican National Committee during the administration of former President George W. Bush in 2006.
