Maariv poll: The decline of Likud and the rise of Arab parties

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - A new poll conducted by the Israeli newspaper Maariv showed that the representation of the Arab parties increased to 14 seats combined, while the Likud Party declined by two seats to 18 seats, while the ruling coalition bloc and the Zionist opposition bloc were equal at 51 seats each, before the next elections.

According to the poll, the ruling coalition lost one seat despite Likud's decline, gaining 51 seats.

This came in light of the increase in the representation of “United Torah Judaism” to 8 seats, and the “Amah Yisrael” party was able to cross the electoral threshold by obtaining 4 seats.

On the other hand, the representation of the Yisrael Beytenu party declined to 8 seats, which led to a decrease in the total number of seats for the Zionist opposition bloc to 51 seats, bringing it to a tie with the ruling coalition.

The Reserve Party and the Economic Party also succeeded in exceeding the electoral threshold and winning 4 seats, without joining any of the two blocs, while joining either of them, according to the results of the poll, does not allow the formation of a parliamentary majority of 61 seats.

Distribution of seats

The results of the poll came in response to a question about the party that Israelis would vote for if the Knesset elections were held today, as follows: “Yashar!” 21 seats, Likud 18, Beyhad 13, Democrats 9, Yisrael Beytenu 8, Otzma Yehudit 8, Joint List 8, United Torah Judaism 8, Shas 7, Religious Zionism 6, United 6, Amam Yisrael 4, and Reserves and Economic Party 4. Seats.

Eisenkot leads Netanyahu

In the prime minister's race, the poll showed Gadi Eisenkot's continued lead over Benjamin Netanyahu, as the former received the support of 48% of those polled, compared to 41% for Netanyahu.

The poll also revealed that the majority of Israelis are optimistic about the results of the upcoming elections, as 79% expressed their belief that the bloc they will vote for will win, compared to 21% who expressed their pessimism.

If the next elections result in an inconclusive result, 55% of respondents said they would prefer to form a national unity government, while 27% supported holding new elections.
