Bethlehem - Afaq News - The Czech car manufacturer "Skoda", which is part of the "Volkswagen" Group, announced the recall of approximately 1.7 million vehicles worldwide due to the potential failure of the steering system.
This decision follows a similar step taken by the parent company "Volkswagen" and its subsidiaries "Audi" and "Seat" just days ago, to recall millions of vehicles due to the same technical issue.
According to data from the German Federal Transport Authority, the danger arises from the possibility of the "mounting bolt" of the steering system breaking, which could jeopardize the vehicle's safety.
As a mandatory corrective measure, the company will replace the current bolt with one made of corrosion-resistant materials to ensure durability and safety on the road.
The list of vehicles subject to the recall from "Skoda" includes four main models: "Kodiaq", "Karoq", "Octavia", and "Superb."
Volkswagen Group confirmed in a brief statement that internal quality checks identified this potential issue in the steering systems of certain models. However, a spokesperson for the group refrained from providing any additional technical details regarding the scope of the defect or the underlying causes behind it.
