Mossad and Shin Bet Investigate Fly Dubai Incident.. Netanyahu Talks About Religious Extremism of Co-Pilot

Abu Dhabi - Afaq News - Axios reported, citing an Israeli intelligence official, that the Mossad and Shin Bet are participating in the investigation into the incident involving the Fly Dubai plane that was heading from Dubai to Israel, after the Omani co-pilot attacked the captain, leading to an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

According to the official, the investigation focuses on the background of the co-pilot and his motives, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that initial information indicates that the co-pilot has gone through what he described as **'Islamic religious extremism'** in recent months. He confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing to determine whether he acted alone or if there was another party behind the incident.

The Israeli official added that among the questions being investigated is how an Omani citizen was allowed to work as part of the crew on a flight heading to Israel, given the security arrangements related to operating flights between the UAE and Israel. Israeli reports had mentioned that the operational agreement with Fly Dubai includes restrictions on the nationalities of the flight crew members.

Israeli reports indicated that the investigation includes Israeli security and intelligence agencies, alongside investigations being conducted by Saudi and Emirati authorities, aimed at determining the circumstances of the incident and the motive behind the attack.

Regarding the possibility of a connection to Iran, Netanyahu stated that it is too early to conclude that, noting that Israel may be able to determine in the coming days whether there is any relationship between the co-pilot and Iran. So far, there is no publicly available evidence proving Iran or any other party's involvement in the incident.
