The majority of “kinetic Islam” trends formed their organizational bases by attracting new generations of young people and teenagers. Because of the characteristics they possess that add to fundamentalist entities a youth dimension and the ability to expand and remain within the depth of society, in light of the ease of influencing the intellectual and behavioral convictions of these age groups, and their inclusion within its movement context or organizational framework, without entering into side battles resulting from any previous intellectual affiliations.
The term “white minds” in the context of “kinetic Islam” trends is associated with minds devoid of intellectual contexts and affiliations, and unable to possess the tools of criticism and review among young people and adolescents, with the aim of shaping their awareness in accordance with the intellectual and ideological literature of these fundamentalist groups, most notably the Brotherhood and the traditional Salafist, or Salafist-jihadi, movements, in a way that achieves the equation of “subordination and submission” between the base and the leadership.
The “white minds” strategy represents the first environment in which to build an extremist or religiously extremist mentality, whether this mind is linked to an organizational framework, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, or is saturated with an intellectual context, such as the model of Salafist movements, or takes place within what is known as “general linking circles” that identify intellectually with the “kinetic Islam” project, without falling into its embrace or directly following its leaders, but it still maintains its reference, which it adopted by indoctrination. The reality of traditional means of intellectual influence, such as the mosque or school, or modern and immediate means, such as social networking sites.
In the context of advanced technological transformations, the relative end of what is known as “organizational political Islam,” and the trend toward building platforms for general intellectual influence, in light of the experience of decline that the various trends of activist Islam are still suffering from, the implementation of the “white minds” strategy is evident, especially as it is a safe haven for these groups in repositioning them, washing their reputation, and trying to take the lead on the scene again, after the societal clash with the political Islam trends following the June 30, 2013 revolution.
This comes by spreading its ideology among younger groups, especially since they are less experienced and able to criticize and deconstruct ideas, and more easily direct their religious feelings and accept extremist movement concepts and literature, without full awareness of the group’s history or its previous bloody practices, in light of their exposure to systematic intellectual campaigns by these currents through academies and electronic platforms that have been established in recent years on social media; With the aim of using it to build a new mass base that carries the ideological frameworks of the “kinetic Islam” project without any organizational connection.
Movement Islam movements have developed multiple projects to implement the “white minds” strategy under dozens of names, most notably the Muslim Brotherhood, which launched the “Generation of Desired Victory” project, while “ISIS” launched the term “generation of empowerment,” while the “Salafi movements” diversified their names between “the generation of Al-Zubair bin Al-Awwam” and the generation of “Khaled bin Al-Walid,” especially since its structure does not fall under the type of organizational structures or cluster cells, but rather under what is known as “pressure power.” "General".
The currents of “kinetic Islam” are betting on their ability to have societal influence by controlling the largest possible segment of adolescents and children during this stage, in light of the state playing an educational role about the concepts of the “national state,” and the extent of its importance in preserving the state and its institutions from destructive projects that place it in the category of hatred and armed hostility, under the banner of “implementing Sharia” or confronting the “resilient sect” or popularizing the term “jurisprudence of repelling the attack,” according to intellectual and ideological deviations, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi repeatedly warned against it and indicated it in his speech in his meetings with the executive bodies.
In practice, the movements of “kinetic Islam,” led by the Muslim Brotherhood, have realized that Generation Z is not just a new age group that can be attracted by traditional means, especially since the classic model of penetration into the depths of society is no longer valid for a generation that rejects organizational affiliation and prefers fluid identities. In addition, the new strategy for international organization believes that the fundamentalist project must modify its mechanisms and means used in implementing “Islamization” scenarios. Societies”, in light of the opening of the field for them to occupy the blue space in its various diversities.
In my belief, the process of “remote recruitment” to serve the “political Islam” project is more dangerous than the processes of organizational recruitment, or intellectual polarization and belief in the project itself, in light of the fact that these age groups fall under attempts of vertical influence in order to achieve the goals of external agendas, through these groups and their followers, through the application of the strategies of the late American politician Gene Sharp, the most prominent researcher at the Albert Einstein Foundation and the International Science Center at Harvard University, who put together a summary of his practical experience on making revolutions. Colorful arts and the art of exploiting popular anger in the book “The Politics of Peaceful Movement” and the book “From Dictatorship to Democracy”, which is the conclusion that is currently being taught within a number of research and training institutions, most notably the “Canvas Institute”, which was founded and funded by the Zionist billionaire Peter Ackerman, and was the gateway to a group of youth revolutions in Georgia in 2003, the “Orange Revolution” in Ukraine, and the Purple Revolution in Kyrgyzstan 2005, and the so-called “Arab Spring” revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Syria in 2011.
The “White Minds” strategy highlights that the battle of the “kinetic Islam” currents no longer depends on building organizational structures, but has increasingly moved to targeting awareness at early stages of life, by creating generations that carry the ideas of the movement project and reproduce it with new tools, without a direct organizational connection, making confronting extremism not limited to dismantling organizations, but rather extending to fortifying awareness and enhancing critical thinking.
