Egyptian actors Mohamed Ramadan and Ahmed Al-Awadi sparked interaction on social media, after publishing two messages on their Facebook accounts, in reference to the characters “Ashmawy” and “Sultan El-Deeb,” who are linked to two dramatic works preparing to compete in the 2027 Ramadan season.

Ramadan wrote on his Facebook account, yesterday, Saturday: “Three whole years of doing what he had... now, shhh, Ashmawi has come,” attaching the hashtag “Ramadan brings us together 2027,” in reference to his expected return to television drama after an absence from the Ramadan race since the series “Jaafar Al-Omda” was shown in 2023.

On the other hand, Al-Awadi wrote on his account, on Sunday, “The place you are returning to, we have created it,” captioning his post with the name “Sultan Al-Deeb,” the character he presents in his new series scheduled to be shown during the 2027 Ramadan season.

The two actors did not reveal additional details about the two posts, which opened the door to speculation about the nature of the two characters and the events of the two upcoming works, and whether Al-Awadhi’s post represents a response to Ramadan’s message, or whether it comes within the framework of promoting his new series.

The “Ashmawi” series represents Mohamed Ramadan’s latest steps to return to drama, after an absence from the Ramadan competition since the “Jaafar Al-Omda” series, which was shown in 2023 and achieved a remarkable audience presence. Its events revolved around a businessman who enters into multiple conflicts, during which his family crises are intertwined with a series of surprises.

It co-starred with Hala Sidqi, Zeina, May Kassab, Iman Al-Assi, Menna Fadali, and Ahmed Dash, and it was written and directed by Mohamed Sami.

Note that during his television career, Ramadan presented a number of series that achieved mass popularity, including “Ibn Halal” in 2014, “The Legend” in 2016, “Eagle of Upper Egypt” in 2018, “The Prince” in 2020, “Musa” in 2021, “Al-Mishwar” in 2022, and all the way to “Jaafar Al-Omda.”

However, during his absence from the Ramadan drama, Ramadan continued his activity in cinema and singing, while he indicated in previous statements his focus on his cinematic projects, most notably the film “Lion.”

On the other hand, Al-Awadhi continues to prepare for his new series “Sultan Al-Deeb”, scheduled to be shown during the Ramadan 2027 season, with the participation of a number of artists, including Sawsan Badr, Rania Youssef, Yara Al-Sukari, and Loujain Khalifa.

The new work comes after the series “Ali Clay”, which was shown during the Ramadan 2026 season, while Al-Awadhi participated in the movie “Samson and Delilah” alongside Mai Omar, Khaled El-Sawy and Issam El-Sakka. The movie belongs to the action and comedy category.
