Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised what he described as "Israeli heroism" on Thursday during a meeting with passengers who were on a Fly Dubai flight that changed its course and helped save the plane from disaster. Netanyahu said: "I tell the citizens of Israel to learn from you, to keep their eyes open and remain vigilant.
Netanyahu spoke with several passengers, including Yaniv Hayoun, who said he grabbed the alleged attacker by the neck and pulled him out of the cockpit, and Shota Musayev, who assisted the injured Indian pilot. Netanyahu said: "The whole world is witnessing Israeli heroism."
The motive of the suspect, the co-pilot, remains unclear at this time. The Israeli Prime Minister's Office stated that Netanyahu told the passengers that "thanks to their extraordinary courage, quick thinking, and faith, they prevented a major disaster and saved many lives."
