In the context of his talks with the United States, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on resuming large-scale military operations against Iran, demanding “the completion of what has been started,” according to what the British newspaper “Financial Times” quoted informed sources.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump informed the Israeli side that Washington would not take any escalatory steps before the midterm elections for the US Congress scheduled for November 3.
The newspaper also indicates, based on its sources, that talk about the possibility of resuming combat operations against Iran may be merely a tactical maneuver aimed at putting pressure on Tehran to push it towards making concessions.
For its part, a prominent security source told the Iranian Press TV channel on Wednesday that Iran is preparing to fight a comprehensive, multi-layered and wide-ranging war in light of the continued escalation of tensions.
The informed security source, who spoke exclusively to the channel, said that Iran had taken a “final decision” to respond to any enemy aggression, killing and assassination “without any limits or restrictions.”
He added that the Iranian armed forces are fully prepared "to crush with all force any interests and goals within the reach of the aggressors and their supporters in the region."
